Piripoho Navigator and Services

FREE Support for Health and Social Needs

The Piripoho Service is a collaboration with Mokoia Community Association, Tatau Pounamu Collective, Ngāti Pikiao (formally Owhata) Medical Centre, Ministry of Social Development and the Lakes District Health Board with a vision for every child 0 – 18yrs and whānau who are living on the Eastside of Rotorua.

All Piripoho services are FREE of charge.

Our Piripoho Nurse service can support by providing:

  • Health and wellness checks (BP, HR, and temperatures).

  • Diagnostic testing (throat swabs, HPV testing and viral swabs).

  • Prescribe a large range of medication for acute conditions (strep, skin, respiratory infections, conjunctivitis, pain relief and headlice).

  • Blood tests (cardiovascular tests and diabetes).

  • Pregnancy tests, contraception education and medication

Our Piripoho Navigator service can support by providing:

  • Up to date social service information and resources

  • Appointments and Navigation support, i.e. with MSD (work and income) and other service providers

  • In home visits

  • Referrals to other support services i.e. counsellors

  • Transport to social service-related appointments (if required)

  • Finances

  • Health

  • Advocacy

  • Housing

  • And or other social service-related support or issues you face daily.
